A daily update is a key organisational communication tool that fosters alignment, engagement and trust by keeping teammates on the same page about company activities. They can take many forms, from emails to app notifications to brief meetings or a platform like tchop(tm). They are typically short and focused on the day’s priorities or developments, delivered at the same time every day to establish routine and reliability.
Team leaders can share daily updates with their teams to encourage collaboration and give employees a chance to voice their concerns and questions. Daily updates can also help managers set clear goals and measure team performance. They can even inspire a new mindset, giving team members an opportunity to publicly share their personal goals and how they are going to reach them.
To enable this feature in your Action, configure one of the intents listed below as a triggering intent and set the daily update option as the response for that intent. Then add a dialogue to the daily update conversation that prompts users to subscribe and collects their custom parameters (if configured). You can then reference those values when delivering the daily update for each user—see the instructions below for details on how to do this, depending on whether you are using Dialogflow or the Actions SDK.
Remember to provide context for your daily update prompts—do not overwhelm users with multiple suggestions to register. Make sure you offer the prompt after you show them the value of your Action, and not in the middle or at the end of the conversation, so they have a good reason to stay engaged with your solution.
